bbmpeg muxed file missing last seconds

Hi,
I have tried to backup a few dvd's in sections by selecting chapters in the conversion tab while using the internal ripping routine. In each case, I have found that for the first cd, the last ~10 seconds are missing from the bbmpeg_muxed_file00.mpg file. (e.g. if there are 30 chapters selecting chapters 1-15) I do not see this problem if the final chapters are selected. I see the problem if the first cd is 740 or 800 mb. I have muxed the cce video with the audio file using tmpgenc and the resulting file is complete to the end. (an interesing observation here is that the complete file from tmpgenc muxing is about 4 MB smaller than the bbmpeb muxed file.) Since I have seen mentions of ripping by chapters in posts I assume I am doing something wrong. Below is the log file from my last attempt.

i think it can solve the problem.

The above link does not appear to be relevant since only one mpg file is being created. Also, it happens whether a 800 mb or 740 mb file is created.

by the way here is some system info:

P4 1.7 GHz, 1 gb 266 ddr ram, win xp pro (logged on as administrator)

I should also mention that there is a work around that I have been using. I would rather not having to do the extra steps of the work around if possible.

The work around:

1) run dvd2svcd as I would normally

when it ends

2) delete the bin and cue file created (I don't know if this is necessary or not.)

3) simple mux the mpv file with the audio file in tmpgenc (tools)

4) rename the muxed file to bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg

5) use crash recovery in dvd2svcd at svcd authoring.

This posting is to give an answer for anyone searching about this issue:

As was already posted in the previos thread, you have to edit the .d2s file, find the line bbMPEGCDSize and put 740 or 800 as size.
The problem is that you choose a cd size in the bitrate tab (for example 800) but in the .d2s file the size is 785 instead of 800.
So the cut is a few second before the real end of the movie and since you choose 1 cd, this few seconds are lost.
Try editing the .d2s file then user Crash Recovery and start from Muxing and Cutting.
If this doesen't work post againg.

It seems that buld 4 didn't solve the problem.
I've compressed Shrek pal 2CD with build 4 and the 2 mpeg files missed 5-10 seconds at the end.
I've changed the movie offset seconds to 0 in the bbMPEG tab but i don't think this is the reason.

first of all, it is really hard to believe that bbmpeg is missing the end of files. Lets use those infos available in your log:

here we can see that the final muxed file has 2830.080 seconds of audio (and, of course, of video too). The diference 2831.8-2830.08=1.72 seconds is almost 2 seconds, which is the offset value used by bbmpeg. Thus, there is nothing wrong with the bbmpeg file.

Lets go ahead with our investigation... could you test the bin/cue file created with the mpeg muxed by bbmpeg? Do it using daemon tools and watching the virtual svcd. If there is no missed seconds at the end of the movie, this mean that your burner have problems while trying to burn files which has almost the whole size of the CD, missing the end of these files. Could verify it?

The problem is not in the burned cd, after the encoding if i play the resulting .mpg file i see that the movie is shorter of 5-10 seconds but if i play the .mpv file, i don't have any lost seconds.
However these are the part of the log.

As you can see CDSize is 815 but Cut point is 802 so i guess the movie is compressed to fit a 815 MB cd but is cut at 802 MB.

come on emilius... You said before that bbmpeg was missing 5-10 seconds of the movie... Now you said that, editing the cut point, those "missed" seconds are shown again... It seems that nothing were missed, don't you think?

This is an old problem with the cutting point, as you can see here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=16340&highlight=800mb).

Yes, you're right, after editing the cut point in the d2s file the movie doesen't have any missed seconds, but in the log file there's however a 2 seconds of difference.

This is an old problem with the cutting point, as you can see here.
I know this is an old problem, and if you look at the beginning of this thread you can see that i've already posted the same link, i was only trying to help ejfudd.
