Please help with BIN burning

This is so frustrating. I have used both CDRWin and FireBurner to burn the BIN and CUE files that were created from VCDImager. I have burned at least 5 CDRs now and none of them are readable at all on my DVD player (it's capable of playing S/VCDs BTW) nor on my computer. The CUE file is "configured" when I opened it with Notepad and I even used DaemonTool to test the CUE and it worked. So now I have no idea why the burned CD is not readable on my computer or DVD player. Please help.

Yeah this is a problem that alot of people have been having. First off Fireburner is not recommended, so i would not use that. Cdrwin also has been causing some problems mainly due to the fact that the registery code is bad, so you get corrupted bin files. What you could try is the 3 things that have never failed for me. YOu can use Nero the latest build, or Fantom CD or you can load up the cue file with deamon tools and then load up Nero and select copy cd, either of those methods will work and as long as you have the latest versions of the software you should be fine.

Or you can use cdrdao (it is contained in the vcdeasy package). Choose expert mode, go to tools & select "burn cue or toc image". If your burner is supported, this is a hassle-free way (plus it's freeware).

Thnx for the replies. I have the latest version (5.5.78) of Nero but everytime I try to burn the image, I get a message saying that there is no cd in the drive. Anybody know why that is? As for Fantom CD and VCDEasy, I don't have those progs yet but I will download them to try them out.

Yeah i've seen nero do that with certain cdr drives.. in those cases nero just didnt have the support for the cdr drive in use.
The only operating system this happened on where nero would not find the cdr drive, was on a friends Window ME.

About Nero, I have been able to burn everything else with it fine, it's only when I tried to burn the image file that it tells me that there is not cd in the drive.

I had just gotten Fantom CD and it successfully burned the image file. Only problem now is that it doesn't play properly on my DVD player. The video and sound are there but it pauses every second, sort of like in slow motion. For other movies that I encoded as MPEG-2 to play on my player, I used that trick where you put a VCD header on the file and burn it with Nero as a non-compliant VCD to trick the player into thinking it's a regular VCD, which I'm sure most of you know about. I used that same method for this movie and created the Image file from the MPEG-2 file with the VCD header. Does this method just not work with creating the Image file to play properly on DVD players? If so, is there another method?

I just started getting this problem myself using dvd2svcd. Mines a little different though as the problem only occurs in certain cituations. WHen I use dvd2svcd cool new frameselect feauture to mkae a 10 min test it works and burns beautifully.

And no I do not have a prob with 80min burning.

My solution to test and burn even the strangest image files is to mount them in the genial daemon tools: http://www.daemon-tools.com/ It can mount any image into a virtual dvd drive, from there you can test if it works, and the burn with nero using the CD copy function whith the virtual drive as source. I burned many images, and it worken every time! :)
