Hi everyone,

I'm assuming Joint Stereo would be the answer but would like someone elses more experienced opinion and knowledge. I've read from elsewhere that layer 2 joint stereo, found in SVCDs, is inferior to layer 3 joint stereo in how the bits are allocated so my understanding is a little vague. What is the lowest bitrate should it be set to for a comparable mono sound? Although bitrate is not much of an issue right now since this movie is quite short, I would like to have an idea since I have some other movies that I like to encode which are longer as well as having two mono audio tracks (english & chinese). Thanks for any input.
