Yep. Latest news is that they'll be releasing a free version, and a "pro" version that may cost around $10-$20. I found a discussion about this at DivX.com, general discussion forum.

He,he let's wait for the two versions.
Let's see where they differ,.. I mean if e.g. the pro version would support multiprocessoring and the free version not would that be soo bad for most of you ?
Ok, I would buy the pro. First of because I like the codec and second I would love multiprocessor support,...
So if the guys at DivXNetworks did think about this, the pro version might just differ in some features that most 'normal' users don't need e.g. streaming, multiprocessorsupport, copyright stuff (e.g for commercial use),...

Ps.: Since the mpeg4 licensing changed, wasn't it obvious that something like this was coming ?

ahem.. how reliable is talk on other boards? this is pure speculation again. Why is it so hard to wait for an official announcement?

Two reasons:
1. Nimo went and flapped his mouth off, and isn't he a moderator at DivX.com?
2. DivXNetwork's decision to become a hype-based company. Can we start to expect 4-6 month product cycles now?
They've given us 0 info on this, just that it's the best thing to hit the third planet since sliced bread. Is it surprising that there's speculation?

No that's not surprising.
But could you please keep all the rumors off this board until it's actually released? This shouldn't be too long anyway. After that has happened everyone will know the facts and the real testing can begin.
Don't tell me you have nothing better to do then spread rumors? I for one have my hands full on XviD for the moment....
