Xvid w/AC3 audio problems

Whenever I join the video with the ac3 audio it doesn't play the audio but plays the video just fine. When I listen to the ac3 track alone it works and sounds perfect. How can I get this to work?

Can you tell us a bit more info so we can make an attemt at helping? What player are you using? What method are you using to mux the AC3 into your AVI(e.g. GraphEdit or NanDub)?
