uManiac's got this new thingy that compiles new builds every 15mins from the CVS (this will confuse the hell out of me, i can't even keep track of which builds work the best any more) ... heheh, i can already see the glee in rui's face.
@rui: started 2nd pass on the replacements using koepi's 28-02-2002 build. 512*288, bilinear, no noise filters (yet) inter lock 1-16, intra 1-5 curveComp Hi 12 Lo 20 (this should give better high bitrate scenes, i hope) and payback 1000frames. not sure how the movie will look, i'm 20% in and i've already seen several quant:8 frames ... eeew.

let's add a new auto-update-function to xvid:
like in antivirus programs, it could display something like: "Your build of the codec is older than 30 minutes, please upgrade to the newest version."
how about realtime-upgrade while encoding?

this scares me. :(

I like the auto-update function. LOL
Instead of Windows Update in our Explorer window we could have Xvid Update. Very cool indeed.:D

heh....with feature requests like this, perhaps it might be a good question to ask if Xvid isn't developing at too fast of a pace....

Why is it developing too fast?
there aren't changes in CVS for ~48 hours for example, so every build is the same between the CVS changes.
...

Koepi

Well, in the last days i am only using Koepi's builds, because of the modulated option. And, by the way, a big thanks to Koepi for being so fast in uploading the latest build. I already downloaded it :)
I am trying too a new encode of The Replacements, 1 cd, using Koepi's 2/3 build.
I will post the results later.

@rui koepi's builds look better actually, but using debudview, about ~80% of the movie is encoded quant >4 so i don't know how much good it will do. BTW, my 512*xxx rip looks bloody awful. i've resized to 484*xxx and am doing the 2nd pass with koepi's 03-02-2002 build. let's hope this looks acceptable. good luck with yours too ;)
Sierrafoxtrot, i am using Koepi's builds for everything, not only this movie. So other movies might beneficiate from the modulated option. This one is a little tough son of a .... :D
Like i said once, i only could make a good rip out of him by using 2 cd's.
I am doing 1 pass as i type this, using a resolution of 576*XXX.
Let's see how it goes ;)
