Improvements

I've been out for a while, but what are the major improvements for the last two months? Very soon I will buy a Digital Camcorder, and I want to know whether encoding in Xvid is valid option

In the last two months, I'd say all improvements have been "outside" the codec's core, in the realm of 2-pass improvements.

There will be core improvements "soon", one of them will be interlacing support, which will suit your camcorder nicely.

But even at the moment, it's a nice codec for everyday use.
