dvd r drives

does anyone know if dvd r drives are double sided burners. because i know floppy drives are and hardrives are but are dvd burners?

if they r not double sided burners then how can u burn a disc larger then 4.7 gigs?

u can't burn a movie larger than 4.7 unless u make the movie smaller by lowering the bitrate or taking out some extra things u don't need.

but cant i use a double sided disc? 9.4 gigs?

You have to burn one side, then flip the disc. It basicly works the same as if you glued to regular dvd-r discs back to back.
