Is it possible to have a chapter point in a video track but disabled in one scenario? It means that the player still plays that part but when you hit the next chapter, it doesn’t jump to that chapter point.

And by the way, is there any where on the net a forum about Scenarist? I have found none!

Maestro lets you achieve this using "Playlists". I cannot believe that Scenarist does not also support this, but I do not know how to author with Scenarist, so I can't tell you the method.

No it’s not actually a playlist that I want. Let's say that you have a video track with these chapters 1 2 3. In how many ways can you set them in DVDMaestro?

What I want is one scenario to play 1 2 3 and one other scenario to also play the entire video from start (1) to end (3) but with the chapter stop 2 not present. I mean just the stop not present. If you are on chapter 1 and hit the next on your remote, it jumps to chapter 3 but yet again I don’t want chapter 2 to be deleted, I want it to still show it after chapter 1 and before chapter 3.

Yes, By Scenarist you can make some chapter in a track, and make it "invisible" in scenario. To do this, you need to "compose" your movie in scenario at cell level, cell by cell. Contiguos cell have seamless play, but chapter point is visible only at PGC level. If you need, i can send you some images to better explain this.
This function is very powerful: In a last DVD "SEX PISTOLS" we made two title with the same track (duplication is only LOGICAL), and any title have the same movie but different chapters division. Is very different from playlist in Maestro, because you have always audio and video seamless play.

About my last reply:

I attached 2 image. n the firs, you have classic chapter division, and you see every chapter point (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). In image 2, you can see the same track with chapter point, but you can access only at 1,4,6 (renamed 1,2,3 for the user)

Hi cupid59, nice to see you here. You are the one and only Scenarist specialist here! I don’t understand what should I do. I am at the cell level, what should I do? Do you mean to use the link command at the cell level?

cupid59, I don't see the attachments. Could you please e-mail them to me by clicking on my profile icon? Thanks!

Now I can see the pictures. That is amazing. That’s exactly what I want. But I don’t know still how to do it! Remember that I have only one big video file for my entire video track. Do you need several separate video files to be able to add them at the program level? Is it possible to do this with only one video file?

Ok, I try to explain you.

You have one only movie. Put chapters point in track editor in your movie.
Go to scenario editor, and drag and drop your movie under the title you want.
Now, you can select in scenario the chapter(s) you don't want at program level, and delete it (example, you delete program with number 3). You have now a "hole" in scenario in place your deleted program, and follow cell icon, have a NSM to indicate "non seamless". You can see, the program over this cell have the number 3. Now, from track list at right down, you can open your movie and see all chapters (click on little + at left of icon). Drag from track list the deleted chapters (if you do not renamed, is the number 2 because start from 0)in to scenario, and drop over the previous program, numbered 2. You can see now the program 2 with two cells, and cells icons indicate SM again. Your movie is all again in scenario, but chapters point is "invisible".
I hope you can understand me, I'm sorry for my english!

No problem I understood perfectly. Thanks a lot. It works perfectly. Now I have a question more for curiosity and my personal knowledge.

I was wondering if you know how they do the professional seamless branching DVDs like Abyss? Are they really seamless in Scenarist?

Imagine a simple scenario. A long version of a movie is chapter 1 2 3 and the normal version is chapter 1 3. How they do this?

I was thinking of this. Naturally encode the long version 1 2 3 as one video.

1) Import the video in one vts and that’s the long version. Simple.
2) The problem starts with the normal version. I was thinking of bringing the video into a vts and deleting the chapter 2 but when you delete the chapter 2, chapter 3 becomes "not seamless" and you cannot switch it back to SM! Is this how they do it professionally or is it something else?

Also I would be grateful if you could have a look at this! :D

Actually, Scenarist don't support "seamless branching". So, you can delete a program from your movie, but follow program it not seamless. In scenarist there is a little icon named "story", near multiangle but is inactive. When this feature will be added, you can make scene with different lengh and audios, and obtain seamless play. For my knowledge, only Warner have a Toshiba system for support this feature.

How Seamless Branching is done? Is it just a simple jump from one program to another or is it some kind of multi-angle?

Seamless branching is very similar to multi-angle, but it allow different lenght for scenes.

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have created a dvd layout in Scenarist as shown in this screenshot. PGC1 has 3 chapters/cells at 00:02:00:00, 00:01:00:00, and 00:02:00:00. PGC2 has 2 chapters/cells at 00:03:00:00 and 00:04:00:00. When I compile the project, I get the ifo file that you see in this screenshot. The second PGC is off, and always seems to start at 00:00:00.15 every time I attempt this. Creating more PGCs results in each PGC having a first cell of 00:00:00.15 time. What am I doing wrong?
