Smartripper MASSIVE memory leak

Smartripper is giving me a MASSIVE memory leak when I try to burn, I have 12x DVD-Rom and the rip starts at 7x and goes down to .8x by the time I run out of memory.

Here's the Shtick:
1-AMD Duron 850mhz
512MB SDRAM
AOpen AK-73 Pro KT133 Via Chipset
12x Pioneer DVD-Rom
Windows 2000

..It takes a lot to fill up 512mb, wonder why it's doing this? .. I can *rip* the file just fine, but at .8x =/

BTW.. I have ripped at 12x with this drive, so I doubt it's a drive problem.

golden rule : use dvddecrypter if the movie (ifo) mode in smartripper isn't absolutely needed

Heh, I like smartripper. But I went ahead and tried to rip it with dvd decoder, Same thing happened, Any ideas?

Is it possible for a driver to leak? I'm supposing it might be that, the leak isn't show in taskmanager, but other memory monitors are telling me that all but 5% of my memory gets used and at that time it slows down totally :p .. Maybe VIA drivers are leaking?

You mean DVD Decrypter, not DVD Decoder I hope!
In any case, their aint no memory leak in my program so it must be something else, or just the monitor software telling porkies!

sometimes windows' caches get bigger and bigger (and bigger...)

this could be the problem when reading / writing huge amounts of data (e.g. a DVD ;))
