Just announced and released on the mailing list. It has improvements, bug fixes and a few new options, among others MCSTF.
I did a quick test with selective MCSTF and it appears to improve the picture by a small amount. But we need more testing with different samples...

I'm a bit disappointed. It looks like they rushed this release out.
Or if they want to get the fixes of sanitizer findings out fast, they shouldn't include the "immature" features in this release.

Did you make any changes to your limit-intra-angle method? It would be great if that could be folded into the main release to get all the improvements in one; I've used it to encode two films so far but the build is from May.

What "immature" features do you mean?
MCTF was already in there and foveated rendering is entirely optional.
2026 is definitely the year of constant security and bug fixes thanks to new AI tools, and so looks to be pretty light on feature work across industries.

--fovea-gaze-file is broken and causes CLI to crash on empty parameter.
Probably doesn't really matter, but this is not what I'd call mature.
