Colour grading

I'm faced with a raw scan of a 16mm colour negative, with colour hue/saturation changes every shot. I'm sure somebody here has worked on such footage using avisynth. Some pointers towards tools and workflows would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've tried many AVISynth auto-white tools and have not found any that work well to color grade old movie film. This is true even if the film type is the same for the project.

I manually grade my footage using the tools in my NLE (Vegas).
