Hi after12,

welcome to the forum - although it was wrong to use the advanced one. ;)

Please read this and the linked threads within if not already done:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16903

And besides that - have you authenticated the DVD first using PowerDVD or WinDVD or installed ForceASPI? - Read Q&A on that as this error can occur if the DVD is not authenticated or has bad sectors. And please give more info on your system.

Greetings,
Gerti

ooops, posted in wrong place, soz

d2s ripped the dvd ok then on completion of that reported a i/o error 1
and went no further

i tried the crash recovery procedure but it said it was unnecessary at this early stage, but it was still inactive

i rebooted the system and then started the whole procedure from scratch but without the ripping and it seems to be going ok

i just wondered if anyone had this before or will i have to go through this process every time i back up a dvd???

regards and thanx for the reply
