I've set up a PayPal donation account donate here (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=forum@doom9.org¤cy_code=USD&no_shipping=1&tax=0&lc=SE&bn=PP-DonationsBF) (forum@doom9.org) so that anyone who feels they want to contribute can send me a couple of $ or so.
All donations will go straight to the cost of hosting this site (which is not astronomical, but since I've been paying out of my own pocket for +20 years it would be nice) and maybe I can update the now two servers to just one that's more powerful.
Anyhow, this is NOT in any way mandatory!

Sure, every time when you connect to Doom9. :)
I've set up a PayPal donation account
A marketing advice, people are very reluctant to donate if they don't get anything in return. Things like a donor star next to a username increases donations multiple times.

I get a lot of return from here. It's a vast resource of audio/video info, lots to read and learn! I don't ask anything in return. The fact doom9 exists is more than enough :)

Even though I agree with microchip8 that I wouldn't ask for anything in return (yeah, I'm an old geezer ) I've added a 'Donor-usergroup' with a special badge. If you feel leftout, you've donated but didn't get the badge, just PM me. And if you do not want it just drop me a note.
(And, as you might know, my strength is NOT in graphics so if you want to make a better icon just give it a go!)

Thank you, I'll wear mine proudly.
Hehe, next step could be: badges expire after a time. That way you would get a steady stream of new donations. Sorry guys, don't hate me. :sly:

I was making a post asking where to find that badge, but then I spotted it. Here is more visible version:

Or it could be different/tiered badges depending on the amount donated. People like that kind of "game." :D

Hey Swede, I know that paypal is pretty common and everything, but given that you're in Sweden which is in the EU if you could send the IBAN privately it's probably easier to send something over without the "middleman" taking its cut.
By the way, thank you for keeping this amazing forum alive for all those years.
