XviD Configuration => Encode starting credits at size...

I am in the XviD Configuratio right now, and I asking me what that means:

"Encode starting credits at size..."

Can I tell VD, how many MB the credits can be?

what build are you using? the text should be: "encode XXXX credits to size". is that it? here you can specify the total size you want the credits to have.

Well, I'm using the latest version, dont know excatly which one, but it should be the latest!

And in the configuration isnt just that: Encode starting credits at size..."

There's also a box below: "Encode encoding credits at size..."

i can't find anything like that, i see the following options:

process credits at start of movie
(enter start and end frame)
process credits at end of movie
(same as above)
encode redits at % rate
(enter a value which indicates how much percent of average quality you want the codec to use for credits)
OR
encode i-frames with quantizer
encode p-frames with quantizer
(enter the desired level of compression, the bigger the value the higher the image gets compressed, i would suggest about 14-16 for both)
OR
encode starting credits to size
encode ending credits to size
(here you can enter the desired filesize for the parts containing credits)

So, can I tell VD with these settings that it have to make the Credits e.g. on 10MB ?

exactly.

personally i prefer percentage rate because this way the credits don't get to ugly at an acceptable size and i don't have to know how long they are to enter a reasonable size.

but why should the credits dont be ugly? ;)

well, sometimes there's some takeouts in the background or something... but you're right, the most important thing about the credits is the soundtrack anyway ;)
