Hello,

does anybody know if the Arcsoft DTS decoder is still necessary to use in eac3to when decoding a DTS-MA 7.1 stream? Does it have any advantage to the standard libdcadec decoder regarding quality or something else?

The libdcadec is one bit more precise than the ArcSoft DTS decoder, then ArcSoft is usseless to decode DTS-MA.

I´m not 100% sure if you´re joking about the 1bit more precise thingy? I demuxed a 7.1 track with both decoders and visually compared them in Adobe Audition and they looked identical, so I guess there really is no need for the Arcsoft decoder anymore.

It is not a joc, I make tests encoding sources to DTS-MA and comparing them with the decoded outputs with ArcSoft and with libdcadec.
The decoded with libdcadec are always bitexact to sources, but the decoded with ArcSoft have some last bit different, maybe some rounding error not important, but inexact.
