I'm stumped.......please help

Well here's what's happening
first off here's my specs:
Intel 1.6 p4
512 ddr 333
60 gig hd
XP pro
ATI AIW agp 16mg /w MMC7.5
I finally compleated my collection of UFC Tapes and I'm ready to back them to SVCD, my trouble lys in convertion NOT capturing I have
perfect capturing in every res. in MMC but I can't for the life of me encode a UFC tape without some pixelation(mainly in the fighting rounds,and at times it get VERY ugly)
Now I read in the threads that ticking the noise reduction helps and it does tremendously, it removes alot of pixelation but it takes 31/2hrs to encode 3:30 min of vid......way to long for me...I also heard you can manipulate the ultra-block to remove pixelation ,but I don't know how to proceed with this...
Is there a diffrent way ??? tryd avi encode but my 829 BT chipset dont give me any res higher than 320x XXX in any prog.
Now I know there's experts in tape convertions in here I seen the threads , I'm hopin you all can help this newbie out....thanks

See if you can borrow a mates minidv or digital8 camcorder with a built in time base corrector this feature will help to make captured video sharper by reducing the slight 'wave' a domestic video playing back makes due to the mechanical nature of the tape transport.

You can buy a very cheap firewire card and transfer the digitized video direct to your pc without any further loss. I'm about to try this myself hopefully it'll work ok :)


I think it is possible if you know the right procedure to cap though the camera direct to you hdisc without retaping first although the manufactures don't usually mention this you have to find out for yourself ;)


btw dv capture for ntsc is 720 x 480 using about 25 mega bits a second and around 3.5 mega bytes a second audio is capped at either 48khz or 32khz i forget the bitrate
