Do you like the new Doom9 logo?

Hey guys,
looks like Swede updated the Doom9 logo a few days ago.

It went from the old classic logo:

So... do you actually like the new logo?
Do you prefer the old one?
Or... simply you don't care? XD

I personally don't mind, but I found it interesting that it changed after so many years.

I noticed this, and was surprised that it had been changed.

It shows mainly with your saved Doom9 Favourites, can't see it anywhere else.

Both old and new are not really good to be honest. I feel something better should be possible. But it is hard to make a real good design. Certainly at small favicon size.

It's better than a default generic one. But browsers tend to cache favicons as long as they can so it may not update for a lot of people (I had to visit the icon URL itself and refresh to make it work), unless Swede makes some changes to the HTML to reference it specifically in the HEAD tags. Even then it might need a query string appended.

The only reason it has changed is that during my endless log-reading due to the *huge* increase in traffic (the number of unique IPs per day went from some 20-40.000 to +1.5 million) I found that some of the icons used by iOS and Android were missing so I created them and at the same time changed the default one which was just the original vbulletin. I didn't think it mattered at all or that anyone would notice :).

i actually didn't find my doom9 tab in my browser at first because i'm really used to the old one that is very unique as far as i can tell.
and yes i only look for the icon.

It worried me a little that I noticed the logo had changed, but couldn't remember what the old one actually looked like until I saw it in the opening post. Maybe I'm going senile.

It was the first thing I notice after not coming up for months. I guess it take some time to getting used to it.

I try keeping my speed dial page pretty, so always make sure site logos look nice. With Doom9, it wasn't easy, as the logo's resolution was stuck in the 90s. Decided to ask that "nano banana" thing to improve the logo. Got this after a few attempts and some manual clean up:
