I tried to log in 3 times today between ~10:30 and ~13:00 GMT+1 and then the connection timed out. I was not able to connect to forum.doom9.org or www.doom9.org for 10-30 minutes after the login attempts, ping worked though.

So is some automated temporary IP banning going on or .. ?

It just happened again. It only happens when I click reply or quote inside a thread, don't even need to supply my credentials, going back in the browser from the quote/reply login page times out as well.
Logging in through the small user/password box at the top right in the frontpage forum view works without problems.

Sorry, there's currently a HUGE ai-search-bot-attack (or what you want to call it) crawling around and it hurts my server a lot. Just check the number of guests logged in. Normally I don't care but the last days have been extreme with a load of +9 or so.

Pls have some patience and hopefully it'll blow over.
