Hi !

I´m using DivX4.12 for some time now. I get good results both for DVD ripps and VHS backups using a width of 640 and 2 Pass mode. Sometimes I would like to compress a movie "quick and dirty" (read: 1 Pass) in a lower les (like 480x... or 384x...).

IMHO DivX4 1Pass doesn´t look as good as DivX 3.11 LowMotion. Much more blockiness with standard quantizers, rate controll, etc.

Could someone please tell me "good" values for all this 1 Pass stuff (quantizer, etc) ?

Thanx,
D$

Try this sets:

Min Q: 2

Max Q: 6, 7 or 8 (Depend of the type and leght of the movie)

since if you dont make 2 pass you ignore the compressibility of the movie at a given res,
you could try e fixed quantizer(min=max)
try with 4 or 5.
