In all these problem postings, a good news message is never too much.

I just made a backup of Mission Impossible 2. After processing, two nice images were waiting for me to get burned on CDR's. The quality of the picture is perfect. The sound is amazing. And with all the new settings (SVCD subs, PBC etc) it plays fine on my Philips standalone player. DVD2SVCD seems stable now.

Grrrrreat!

@ M1ckey M0use

Hi,

Does this mean that even Fast Forward and Reverse functions are working seamlessly on your Philips?

Which imager did you use? Vcdimager or VCDxbuild?
What Philips model and firmware do you have? I use 7.22.

How long does it take to launch the movie after loading the dics? For my 751 it is at least 30 seconds (too much). For VCD 2.0 discs it's much quicker.

Thanks,
Z

I never use ffw or rev on my philips dvd with firmware. We've got chapters now :-)

I use vcdxbuild, pbc off, no start or change disc picture and svcd subtitles.

I don't know how long it takes. It can be 30 secs or maybe less. I don't really care. Maybe it has got something to do with the cdr you use? Maybe some discs are harder to read?

I also use PBC with 60 sec chapters, mainly because of this ff/rw problem.

If time permits, could you pls check for me what happens when you press "play" when the movie finished? I cannot play it again without an eject/reload. I suspect another firmware bug. I wish Philips would read this forum...

Most frequently I use TDK 80 min CD-RWs. I think I will have to test some other brands.

Thanks for the quick info, MM

M1ckey M0use, it is really appreciated. Folks that have no problem (a vast majority) do not tend to get involved on the forum because they have no need to. It is always nice to hear somebody say everything is wonderful :)

I agree. For most people, this programs works great. Many have never had problems backing up their DVDs. Not once.

Therefore.........

Show DVD2SVCD your appreciation and make a donation. I know this has been said before.

This guy works his butt off upgrading the program, answering your questions in the forum, managing his website, etc.
