View Full Version : Color Defect: Removing Green Tint from Low-Quality Footage
Keys From The Eight

Hello, it's me (again). I have some very low-quality footage with a color problem. At the time, one of the cameras had a color defect, leaving the image greenish. Is there a script to fix this defect? In the first scene, we can see one of the actors falling on a red field (which was green), and in the others we see the actors with some green parts. Note: I only have this source.

1. Change it all to B&W. That's what I'd do.
2. Or, use something like the Secondary Color Corrector in Vegas to define the green and then either shift it to a different color, or desaturate it.

Personally, I think it's not really worth the effort trying to make something like that more 'watchable'. (even in b&w the overcompressed content is horrible)
That said, I agree, throwing this to b&w and recoloring s probably the best approach.
Using something like DeOldify/HAVC (https://github.com/dan64/vs-deoldify) might help with the coloring, assuming you have enough time or computation power. (example (https://www.mediafire.com/file/vmht3yjfav94zhc/colored.mp4/file) with BasicVSR++ and basic HAVC settings)

May be used GamMac() function from StainlessS.
See link at bottom of post.
Function works very fine, many thanks to StainlessS.
