My speed on Pal Movies with K7S5A, 256 DDR, AMD 1800XP is 1.25 - 1.3.
DVD2SVCD ver 1.06 b4 , No Filter, simple resize - is it to slow???

Yes. It may be. I have on XP1800+ 1,2-1,4. It is variety of each movie.

It's about right. If you want tweak your systems memory.
Look on hardware sites for the info.
Like www.anandtech.com www.amdmb.com www.viahardware.com
You may also want to do a search and look to see what others have done. It is a waste to repost something that has been covered in detail before.

I get a bit over 1.5 with my xp1700 (and it is NOT oc'd)

I have a soyo k7ada v1.0 mobo though (was gonna go for the ecs k7s5a but I got a pretty good deal on my combo)

C'mon boys, that's the same old story!
You're comparing things that CAN NOT be compared!
1.25 is perfectly ok for a 1800+, as long as you
are not using SimpleResize, which has to lead you to around 1.5
Otherwise it depends on whether you do PAL or NTSC, 4:3 or 16:9, etc etc...
My figures are similar to yours, and they're OK.
