I am a newbie at this.
All I am trying to do is covert my 8mm and digital home movies to DVD with good quality no editing at all. Each is 2 hrs long and I have about 30 of them.
My problem is this, I am using CCE 2.64 and Adobe Premeire 6.01 with Win XP. I capture my video with Adobe via firewire from my Sony
TRV-120. A 2hr video is 27 gig I then export it to CCE with VBR at 3 times video only and default setting elsewhere. It runs OK for a while but I notice that my Virtual memory climbs between 1.8 and 2gig about halfway through, then stops climbing. When the encode is done CCE fails saying it could not find the file. I have tried increasing the VM in XP but it doesnt help. I have a P4 1.8 with 768mb of RDRAM and a dedicated 60 gig ATA 100 drive. While all this is happing nothing is being saved to the hard drive no files are changing to reflect the new MPEG being created.
One other note if I use LSX to encode it works fine VM climbs to 540 mb and a I can watch the file its creating increase in size. I would really like to use CCE because of the mentioned speed and quality.
Any ideas????
Thanks
J
