wierd sounding audio

I've tried freddy got fingered the last three days and each time the audio has been very wierd sounding. when they say something funny, you can hear voices in the background laughing and it sounds like they are in a hallway because the voices "echo" when they talk. The picture is fine, the audio/video are in sync. Could it be doing this because it has different angles on the dvd disc or something? the movie has no scratches on the disc or anything like that.

Have you tried the latest build of dvd2svcd? also could you post your log file and avisynth script

Do you have a stereo system w/speakers hooked up with your DVD player to get surround sound or are you just listening to the movie through the TV set?
