xmpeg question

Hello
About how long should the first pass take when doing
2 pass encoding. my first pass takes around 2 hours
then when the 2 pass start xmpeg seems to hang.
Any help would be appreciated.

It all depends on your hardware - to be more specific - CPU, memory, HDD, and also on the video material, used filters, settings....
2 hours for one pass is pretty normal.
Another thing - Xmpeg is known to be buggy, so that may be your problem with hanging....
Why don't you try Gknot instead??? Read Doom9's guides, Gknot FAQ and encode !!!!

I did try Gknot A bit harder to use
but the results looked better then xmpeg!!
