All my blu-ray folders have a META folder along with a few others like AUXDATA, BACKUP. Sometimes the META folder has a couple of jpeg pictures and an XML file and sometimes nothing. Would it be OK to delete the contents of the META folderand what does it actually do?

If a folder exists in the output it is because they existed in the input. That means at some point they are referenced. I'd leave them intact.

From the Blu-ray specifications...

AUXDATA
The sound data file, the font files and the font index files shall be placed under this directory. This directory shall exist even if there is no file in the AUXDATA directory.

BACKUP
Copies of index.bdmv file, MovieObject.bdmv file, all the files in PLAYLIST directory, all the files in CLIPINF directory and all the files in BDJO directory shall be placed under this directory. This directory shall always exist.

META
Metadata files shall be placed under this directory. This directory shall exist even if there is no Metadata file in the META directory.

OK thank you. I'll keep the contents within the META folder from now on.
