View Full Version : Create "Proper" BD From Just the STEAM Folder?

I have a STEAM folder with multiple .mts files - clearly meant to be with a proper structure, but the other folders were not available - however, I do have the INDEX.BDMV & MOVIE OBJECT.BDMV files.

I thought that BDRebuilder would correct this, however it does not see it as a valid BD - Selected source is not BD format

Is there anything I can do with this?

Thanks!

If all you have are the M2TS files you'll need to author them to Blu-ray. BDedit needs an existing structure to read.

BDMV\index.bdmv
BDMV\MovieObject.bdmv
BDMV\AUXDATA
BDMV\BACKUP
BDMV\BDJO
BDMV\CLIPINF
BDMV\JAR
BDMV\META
BDMV\PLAYLIST

That being said, you can still read and edit the *.bdmv files using BDedit if you want. Place them within the above folder structure, then browse to the BDMV folder. Just stay away from the PLAYLIST and CLIPINF tabs. If those folders are empty the application will crash. :p

Hi DeathStalker77, I add to Lowpro excellent advice, If the Bluray structure is IGS, the folders: JAR, BDJO, META, AUXDATA, they can be empty, it may be sufficient to recreate the empty folders.

With tsMuxeR (https://www.videohelp.com/software/tsMuxeR) you can load *.m2ts, select Bluray folder as output and recreate the files *.clpi (CLIPINF folder) and *.mpls (PLAYLIST folder).

I tried TSMuxer and it did not recognize a couple of the .mt2s files - and it wanted to create 1 .mt2s file. I'm aware that META & AUXDATA can be empty (but they ARE needed if you want to use PowerDVD!) With some of the files (there are only 6 - 00000-00006 -- 4 are MENU files, they play fine with VLC, 1 is a small file, like a "transition", and then there is the main file, which also plays fine with VLC. With the MENU files I get the message "Unsupported Format - Some tracks not recognized. This track was ignored \STREAM\00000.m2ts". However, it DOES still show in the ADD Files section, and the Audio & Video tracks show in the Tracks section. I do not get an error with the main video file.

I tried it anyway, to a BD Folder - it DID create only one (1) .m2ts file - and ONLY the file sections from the MENU files play - the main video did not. So, I am not clear on how to get the necessary .clpi & .mpls files created with BDEdit 4.0 - obviously I want the Menu files to play as menus.

Thanks! :-)
