Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you well, An incredible job done on this VHS sequence by Chief Mouse,

Is there an Avisynth script to get a similar result on Dropouts and Jitter?

Very impressive result by Chief Mouse... :scared:

I am not aware of any AviSynth plugins which can get even close to this. I tried VHSClean and FixRipsP2 from this link:

but both tools could not even get close to the result by Chief Mouse. Who is this guy, and which software did he use?

The bottom is partially cropped and internals are zoomed. So part of damaged bottom is not restored.

The FM-demodulator noise cleaning is median filtering - see MedianBlurTemporal or vsTTempSmooth(pmode=1) with big enough tr.
The stab may be mvtools - depan.
The denoise may be mvtools - MDegrainN.

Hi all:

Perhaps stabilization has been done with a virtualdub plugin named stabbo. It can be used in avisynth:

Loadvirtualdubplugin("E:\Bibliotecas\Mis_programas\_VIDEO\Virtualdub\Last_vdf\Stabbo.vdf","stabbo",1)

any video source...

....

source .stabbo(1, 0, 0, 75, 6, 13, 15, 1, 1, 8, 103, 0, 1200)

I tried using stabbo alone and in different combinations with VHSClean and FixRipsPS, but I never got results even close to the results of Chief Mouse. Especially the last section of the source clip did not get close to the result of Chief Mouse.

So I think that this is it for me. Unless Chief Mouse is willing to share his approach I will close this topic for me...

You interpolate over the "bad" frames first , using good frames as reference points

There are many examples of this posted using mvtools2 based functions and rife

Ideally you'd start with the original source , not the cropped youtube video
