Some image doublers / scalers use neural net. AI is just a buzzword. It's like saying "Is this media player Web 2.0 capable?"

Oh, there's also an implementation of NVIDIA super-resolution in the MPC-HC renderer which does use AI to create detail, it's somewhere here on doom9.

Madshi does use AI to develop the Envy version of madVR but, because AI needs to be trained on large volumes of data (which requires days or even weeks in that case), I doubt that it can be used directly in real time. For now you would have to purchase Envy hardware at a quite high cost.
