As my two year anniversary with DivX and my one year anniversary with DivXNetworks has just come to pass. As of today I will no longer be a part of the DivXNetworks company.
For those that know my past and what had brought me to DivXNetworks was my founding of MyDivX.com which then merged into and became the basis for the current DivX.com that you see today. I am proud of that fact and leave knowing that we are now one of the webs leading communities with millions of people visiting the site every month.
What I have had the pleasure of, is what you all don't see behind the scenes. The work and dedication from the DARC team developers and their commitment and vision to produce the best possible video codec available today is commendable. It has been a privilege to work with those people.
I leave knowing the fact that the DivXNetworks technology is well positioned for the future. At its core is the MPEG-4 compliant DivX video codec. For those that still doubt the validity of the technology and actually how good it is. All you need to do is look at recent joint announcements by Fraunhofer, Sigma Designs and DivX 5.0 to quell those doubts.
I would personally like to thank Doom9 and the community here for all there support and insight. Everyone here has been incredibly supportive of our efforts and your constant feedback has and is still crutial to the DivX codecs success.
Even though I will not be a part of the companies future... I will still be here and have promised myself that I will not be leaving the DivX community behind that I helped to form. I will still post on Doom9 on occasion and will field questions. I also still plan on assisting Marc over at ProjectMayo with the 'Dreamcast DivX Player' Project and the 'Pocket DivX Player' as well.
As far as my future plans... I am working on being a part of a much larger community from which DivX feeds from and is a part of. I will soon make an announcement on this.
I am proud to have been associated with the DivX Codec and some of the people that created it from the very beginning. I thank you all for your support, patience, friendship and understanding. I hope I have helped some of you learn, as I know I have learned much from all of you in the past two years.
God Bless-
