Hi,
I have read all the guides and faq's on the site, but can't find a good way to convert my DV footage to DivX. I am trying to use Gordian Knot2.3 and want to use the DivX 4.12 codec and Lame. Can someone explain the way I can do this? Once I open my AVI in VDub...not sure what to do with all the scripts and such.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can't use GK fully with an avi source. Just open the video in Virtualdub, apply whatever crop/resize/noise reduction filters you want in video -> filters. Then select video -> compression, select the divx 4.12 codec, and click configure. There you can set the bitrate and stuff. Do whatever you want in the audio menu. And then click file -> save as avi.

Bingo. Happy encoding.

Thanks for the reply rmatei,
That was simple enough, and worked like a charm. Another Question I have is when I do capture the vidoe from my camera through Premiere, what is the best format to use...enhanced avi, microsoft compatible avi...? Thanks for your help again...

Does anyone know how to use the LAME encoder when using Premiere???

I captured 6 seperate 4GIG avi's through Premiere 6.0 and want to unite them and compress to 1 or 2 cd's... what is the best way I can do this???? What programs do i need...the less the better... I want to compress the audio as well. Any help would be appriciated.
