I am in the process of assembling my home videotheque, which are mostly HD 1080p files, on a video server. Lots o DVD and Bluray captures I will have to do.

Dome of those films were never released in HD and probably will never be: they are all DVDs, some in reasonably good SD. Enhanced Upscaling is in order.

What I am doing is using Vegas Pro, which is an user friendly editing program, not as complicated as pro editing programs like After Effects. I get to enhance the image and get to reasonably good looking fake-HD image. New filters allow a light but perceivable improvement. That is: they cheat quite well.

For some things I still use Vidcoder V. 2.62, with a Settings adjustment that I had been passing from version to version.

But things seem more difficult with version 8.26. Is there a good tutorial somewhere on how to better use this Vidcoder version?

First thing that I found strange on the settings is that there's no HD 1080p50 or 1080p25 option. Several films I have are PAL, so it demands 25 or 50 processing, without conversion.
