Recently I upgraded my internet to fiber optic. I decided to add a second router for upstairs, in order for better signal strength for my Oculus and to have wired connections to my bedroom TV and laptop. The problem is now my main and my laptop can no longer connect to each other. I have internet on my laptop, but can't access my main's shared drive and my main can't access my laptop.

Here is my setup:

Fiber Line to Main Router downstairs

Main computer and Living Room TV connected to Main Router.

Ethernet cable from Main Router to Second Router upstairs, connected to Second Router's WAN port.

Laptop and Bedroom TV connected to Second Router.

Main is Windows 10 since processor is too old, Laptop is Windows 11, both are fully updated.

This has really got me puzzled, since the laptop has no trouble accessing the internet, but can't even locate the main router in file explorer, and the main can't locate the second router. I really need help getting back up so I can use Ripbot at its fullest again.

You have a double NAT problem where you have 2 separate networks that can't talk to each others. This happens when you connect router after router. To fix it, put the second router in Access Point (AP) mode and let the main router handle the rest.

If you need more, specific help, SNB forums is the place to be: https://www.snbforums.com/
