I hope someone can help. I can't seem to figure this out. I was using CCE 2.50 frameserving from Vdub. It was working fine, but it just seemed to stop working about two days ago. The error I get is AVIfileopen ("C:<Filename>") unknown error.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the Vdub handlers, I tried proxyon/proxyoff. I then tried to uninstall CCE and reinstall CCE, then apply the crc patch, but nothing seems to change the error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled all the divx and mpeg codecs, still nothing.

My system is a P3 1ghz running Win2k. CCE seems to open regular avi's without a problem, so I'm thinking it has to be somewhere between cce and virtualdub. Any ideas?

Help is much appreciated, Cels

Check your audio settings, that's where CCE usually generates wierd errors.

Maybe you have audio at 48khz or something? I think 2.50 is pretty picky about audio, in that there MUST be audio in the .AVI for it to load properly, and it must be 44.1khz, 16bit stereo (I think).

I wish that were it. I'm loading the exact same file that I was able to encode a few days ago, but no luck.

Any other suggestions? Is this a common thing with CCE - it seems to work for a little while and then just stop?

Thanks for the help so far :)

use a reg cleaner and clean out the key's, then install again. If that dont work then your out ot dry...only other thing you could try is instaling another OS. On my last install of win2k it didnt work...crashed everytime on start of encode...but on this install it works ¿. I have no idea why this is but it does. Only thing i can thing of was last time i was running it on a fat32 partitions and now its on a ntfs...that is the only thing. Maybe you should clean out all the registry settingst that apply to codec's that you dont need. Possible one is interupting its process.
