Out of curiosity... What's the minimum configuration you've seen DivX movies run on without skips?
So far, my best accomplishment is playing a 560x304 23.976fps DivX 4.xx rip of "Memento" with Level 2 post-processing smoothly on a 266 MHz Pentium II laptop with 192 MB of RAM. The OS was Win98SE and the player Media Player 6.4. The movie looked awesome even on my large widescreen TV.
On a 450 MHz K6-2 with 96 MB of RAM and Win2K SP2, I was able to play a 640x352 29.97fps DivX 4.xx home-video smoothly only with all post-processing turned off (Level 0). The player used was also MP6.4.
