i just ripped a copy of a concert using dvd2svcd, but the quality was not what i was hoping for. when there was any kind of motion, there were horizontal lines that appeared around the edges of whatever's moving. i've done this rip 3 times (twice with tmpeg and once with cce 2.5). i would like to use cce 2.5 to do the encoding. the settings i used were:

2 hr movie @ 3 740 MB cd's

max bitrate: 2530

min bitrate: 1000

min avg: 1800

max avg: 2200

4 pass vbr

image quality priority: 17

noise filter: 2

frameserver: simple resize

linear quantizer scale, upper field first, zigzag scanning order, and progressive frames are all checked.

anything you suggest to get rid of these lines?

Have you tried BicubicResize b 0.00 c 0.50? I use that setting if a movie seems to have to much noise.

Also if you haven't done this, go download bitrate viewer, and view the vob files, dont view the first vob just the others or atleast one of the other vobs.

smartdeinterlace or use IVTC (takes longer though)
that's what I do....perhaps there's a better way..until then.
