fresh computer reinstall

please which codecs and movie player should i use these days.
Im used to bsplayer. And have ryzen 9 but no 3d card.

LAV filters.
MPC-HC, PotPlayer, VLC, would be my choice [I install x64 & x86 for 1st 2, but that would not be everybodies pick]
(For Avisynth/VDUB2, UT_Video, MagicYUV)

EDIT:
I use x64 and x86 for testing Avisynth scripts [as well as VDub2 x86 and x64],
but also,
I use x64 for regular default player, but use same x86 player to continue watching some movie from last played position (when player set to do that).

I just realised VLC default install included 40MB of locale that I didn't want or need. Did anyone say bloated ?

Locale is very useful if you do need it and 40MB is pretty small today. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. :p

Once you've deleted mpciconlib.dll and the Lang folder, the full mpc-be installed size is less than 35MB.
