I don't know why but I have done it 3 times and I am not getting any sound files when I DVD 2 AVI.

I set to Forced Film

I select the track
'
I set Dolby Digital Demux all tracks

The first time i had and AC3 file of 576kbytes and every other time the files was 0 bytes. In DVD2AVI when it gives the timestamp it says like 2 seconds. I play the vob files in winDVD and the sound is definetly there.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

as in my reply to your other post, i would say you have the wrong audio track selected.

try DVD2AVI with audio track 2 or 3.

@mantis:

when he selects "demux all tracks" he should get all tracks, it makes no difference which track he selects. So this would be another problem.

@kttiger:

1. Which ripper do you use?
2. Did you check the d2v file? You should find a list of the processed vob-file at the top. Check if all your selected vobs are present. It should end with "FINISHED" after LOTS of lines.

I tried it again and the sound file isn't 576kb it is 281 MB... Still way too small and unplayable. here is the stream info in the text file.

I have used Smartripper to rip and it doesn't seem to do anything when I select a different audio track.

How long is your video? 281 MB should be more than an hour.
Did you check if at the bottom of your d2v is "FINISHED"?
Which srteam is 281 mb large?

usually when I do a movie the sound in just under or just over 1 GB.

Where do I check to see if it says finished? I know that when DVD2AVI is doing its thing that in the statistics windows that pops up it says FINISHED when it is done.

sounds like you only have one ac3 file in the vobs. do you get more than one demuxed ac3 file of 281MB? or do you get 3 separate files with a total of 281MB? if it's the latter you can just use that to encode to mp3.

just a thought, have you checked that you're not using stream processing in smartripper?

good luck.

EDIT: if you are using stream processing, tick the box with the stream you want, and don't tick the option to demux to extra file, leave it at direct stream.

You still did not tell me how long your video is. One gig of sound (for one stream) schould be about 5 hours. For example "5th Element", ca. 121 minutes, ac3-file 388 MB. So if your video ist about 90 minutes 281 MB would fit.
You see if your DVD2AVI-project ist finished when in your d2v-file is ended with "FINISHED" as I stated 2 times before.

Thank you for your help Everyone... I did it again and I
Just converted the audio the way it was 281MB and it
was right. So sorry. Yes I am using Stream processing
and the length is 87 mins. The colours were messed up
too and that is why I assumed the AC3 file wasn't right.

Everything is cool now tho.
