My goal is to rip a favorite scene from a DVD. Im assuming that I'll need to rip the entire chapter that the scene is in and use an editor (premiere) to cut just the scene I want. I've come as far as extracting an avi to imported into Premiere, but am now going back to get the audio to go with the video (assuming, again that audio and video must be done seperately?).

I've used SmartRipper to rip the single chapter from the DVD. That created 2 .vob files (one of 0 size, odd) and 3 ac3 files (1 for each language?).

I'm using the "Graphedit & Vob2audio" guide now to generate a .wav file to add as the audio track for the scene. I've installed the VFAPI and GraphEdit componenets per the guide and am now using GraphEdit to generate the .wav file.

When viewing the graph, there is only 1 ac3 "node" and it is in French (im guessing, it's certainly not english). The guide says to try the other ac3 nodes until you find the language you want, but there is only one. I've watched the cd and english is available.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Jamie

Ah! I may have opted to "demux all tracks" when using dvd2avi. When I get a chance, I'll try again with only "demux" selected.

I was wrong. Although, after changing to "demux" instead of "demux all tracks" using dvd2avi, I did have only 1 ac3 file... it was the french file.

Sooooooo, Im guessing that I'll need to "demux all tracks", and then figure out how to get all three .ac3 nodes to appear in GraphEdit. Which brings me back to may original question.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Jamie
