What GPU do I use for NVENC?

Do I have to use a specific gpu to use nvenc, I know the gpu has to be nvidia. I want to get a gpu on a budget so looking for suggestions. Thankyou

For best video quality when encoding look for cards with Turing Encoder or better.

In other words, if looking at GTX you want a 1650 Super (not plain 1650 as only the SUPER has Turing), or 1660 or better... If RTX you want 20x0 or better.

I have an EVGA GTX 1660ti XC Ultra Gaminig (06G-P4-1267-KR) in one PC and an EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING (12G-P5-3657-KR) in another, and they perform about the same (FPS) during encoding using NVENC and give the same great results.

I've seen some good prices (around $200-225 USD) for GTX1660Supers around lately.

In regards to using NVENC is there anything different you need to do or is it just a case of adding the GPU and selecting NVENC within the program? Also does NVENC work for FULL DISC/MAIN MOVIE backup to Blu- ray as that's what I'll be doing? Thankyou
