I have switched to Python 3.11 (last stable) but I can't get VS installation to finish properly as it looks for Python 3.10 max.
Any workaround, beside going back to 3.10?

No, I'll probably make a release with python 3.11 support once 3.11.1 is out.

Will we have then to use Python 3.8 or 3.11 then, will 3.10 support be dropped ? Are there any plans which Python versions will be supported?

3.8.x (last with win 7 support) and latest Python with a .1 release.
Possibly some small deviations sometimes but that's it. Having more versions just makes distribution and compilation annoying. It'd be nice if Python modules didn't have to be recompiled for every single release.
