Seriously, the hell is this crap? My very first video editing was done in Premiere 6.0 and it had no problem digesting random mpeg-1 files that I had grabbed off the internets. When did it lose this functionality?

EDIT: Pro 2.0 can also import and edit MPEG-1 files without difficulty.
