this is kind of wierd, so i am using mpc-be with madvr, internal subtitle
I have dobly atmos on headphones, so when i play a video the sound is low and a bit muffled, but when I choose a subtitle it fixes the audio, not all subtitle choices fix it, and the subtitle needed to fix it also changes per video, if the video has no subtitle choices i cannot fix the audio. I have no clue why choosing a subtitle fixes the audio. have any ideas?

sounds like choosing a subtitle is rebuilding the graph/resyncing which fixes your assumed fullness issue.

check the fullness of the audio renderer of your choice and check the filter in use.
a normal fullness is 90% i have no clue why it is not 100 % i never ask someone that may know why.
