I've used this tool before. I wonder why it's failing now. WinXP (32-bit) guest machine in Virtualbox.
EDIT: also "there is no function named ffvideosource" excuse me sir but the documentation disagrees.
I really need to wipe and reinstall more often because I keep forgetting what I had to do to get all this crap working in the first place. And yes I have all the VCredist runtimes installed (up through 2017, because 2019 wouldn't install).

Running a 64-bit application in a 32-bit OS will give you that error.

This is the version of ffindex that was in the x86 folder so I'm pretty sure it's not the 64-bit version
EDIT: has bcrypt.dll ever been backported to XP? Is there a version of ffms2 that doesn't rely on bcrypt.dll?

@Katie
It would me much easier if you just said what version of FFMS2 you downloaded. FFmpeg dropped support for XP back in December 2017 so any FFMS2 versions around or after that date are not XP compatible. Even some earlier 2017 FFMS2 versions are not compatible because the binary was built with VC2015/17 without the XP compatibility switches. Your best bet is the C-plugin version: FFMS2 C-plugin r1315+119 (http://www.mediafire.com/file/oi31n1lcrzdvkno/ffms2_r1315%2B119-avs%2Bvsp_lastxp.7z) (Final LastXP build)

Let me shine some light on this for Katie but most importantly for all Windows XP lovers here:
Myrsloyk dropped Windows XP support for ffms2 in 2017.
qyot (Stephen) picked it up in 2018 'till 2019, then he also dropped support.
Reino picked it up from 2020 and kept it updated and Windows XP compatible.
This is the latest build: ffms2 4.5 (21-05-2021) x86 Windows XP (https://rwijnsma.home.xs4all.nl/files/ffms2/ffms2-2.18-756-4d45afc-avs-vsp_ffmpeg-4.5-697-5541cff-win32-xpmod-sse.7z)
Works like a charm on XP and I use it on a daily basis.
Long live to Windows XP

The fact that you asked and I replied and neither of us remembered the conversation ever occurring it's just a sign of how stressed out we are...
(or how bad I'm becoming as I get older...)
(at this rate I'll be brain dead by the time I reach StainlessS's age, which is really worrying :scared:)

hahahahahahahaha
no, seriously, if I could get to your age in your brilliant mental shape I would be like: "Where do I have to sign?" :D
I really hope that this period is only caused by being overworked and that it will pass, but as things stand, I'm not really in a good place right now... :( (and doom9 is a tiny beacon of light I use to relax)

LOL. What's even more interesting is that I had apparently lost the XP-compatible version of FFMS2, no doubt because there are different versions of my video editing archive spread across 5 external hard drives.
