I am currently using the staxrip gui to add an audio track with compressed dynamic range to my media files.
When extracting timestamps of mkv video files and during the remuxing of the mkv, media info reports that the video is changed to a vfr from a cfr.
There is a staxrip bug ticket where it suggests to avoid extracting timestamps on cfr mkv video files as a solution.
My question is will this cause any av sync issues?
I have tested by not including time stamps in the new mkv folder and it does not seem to be an issue.
What are these timestamps for?
As most of my media is 23.976 cfr in an mkv folder and being remuxed to again mkv with original video and audio file and adding a drc applied audio track.
Thank you for any wisdom
