View Full Version : Is there some avi splitting tool that uses .stats file to find where to cut ?

When I split avi file it usually takes about 3-4 attempts before I figure out where to cut exactly (because of different frame sizes, audio data in avi). I just thought that someone has such program that reads .stats or 2nd pass .stats and calculates everything like frame size distribution, key frames.... Anyone heard of such tool or may be there is smarter way to cut avis that I hadn't figure out yet?

Hey there,

I'm mystified about this "3-4 attempts" ..... why so many ? You are using nandub to split files right ? or am i missing something ?

@diji1: I don't think you're missing something.. he's apparently not using Nandub in conjunction with the jump to command.

:( Doom9, in fact I have the same question. I use Nandub to cut the avi files, just like you said in the guide: Ctrl+shift+J to enter the file size.

But strangely if I use Nandub to cut a DivX file with AC3 audio stream, it works good. The file size is accurate. But if I cut a DivX file with VBR MP3 stream, the file size is always 30M to 40M bigger than I expected. For example, if I input 690M, the cutted file is between 720M and 730M.

I think jugm has the same problem.

Could you please help us?

Thanks a lot.

Sorry I didn't know about that option in NanDub :o Thats exactly what I asked for.

Hope someone will help.

You know Ctrl+Shift+J didn't work in my case. :(

diji1, the movie is correct. I reduced the offset to get the 699M file. As a matter of fact, I use GKnot+DivX3.11, but I use Besweet
to handle the audio stream seperately. After that, I mux the avi file with the MP3 or ac3 stream with NanDub.

It's really strange.

I have the same problem with nandub. i use nandub to mux my divx5 avi file and VBR file. when i use the jump command, my file size is 30+MB larger (seems like it doesnt take into account the size of the audio).

i use AVISplitCalc . Its perfect. it automatically opens nandub and generates the outpu properly. it also does the cutting at key frames.

u can define the size of the cut or can also do a half cut.

i now have used avisplit on about 10 rips and i am yet to have a problem with it.

muralin, I use AVISplitCalc too. However, the 30M+ problem is still

there for DivX3.11 files. I didn't try DivX4 and DivX5 files.
