View Full Version : Where to get/how to install Flowframes?

So I just learned about Flowframes and wanted to give it a try. The first Google result took me here:
https://nmkd.itch.io/flowframes
which asks for a donation when you try to download it (1.35.0) but also says 1.31.0 is available for free. But I can't see where.
Some more Googling found me a download of 1.35.0 on Softpedia, so I tried that - there's an error during install that says "NVAPI_GPU_NOT_POWERED" (I have an MX150). It allows me to continue, but then just hangs at "Installing Pytorch files..."
Does anyone have any suggestions, either as to where I download the latest freely available version, on how to get the install to finish?

If you would've taken the time to read the description, you would've known that the itch version is not the latest. And it's pay what you want, you don't need to donate anything at all - Itch shows a "no thank you, just take me to the downloads" link.

Here are the direct download links:
Flowframes 1.35.0 (Web Installer): https://icedrive.net/s/b6UzborqUz
Flowframes 1.35.0 (7z, use only if installer does not work): https://icedrive.net/s/2ARCgXw3wCu7XQa1WvBjhQxaP88i
I started to install the web installer but after seeing ~3gb for the install I aborted.
BTW, RIFE is now available for AviSynth+: https://github.com/Asd-g/AviSynthPlus-RIFE

I think the answer is simply that my graphics card sucks. It's only a few years old, NVIDIA, but it lacks the one bit of support necessary for all the DG plugins (I have to use FFMpegSource, the indignity!) and while it does apparently support Vulkan (I ran a Vulkan test program and it said everything was okay) it presumably also lacks something else that Flowframes needs, and Flowframes just doesn't know how to handle the error properly.
I probably won't use it much but it seemed to install to my work computer okay.

No compiled DLL?

Odd that it supports Vulkan but you can't use DG's plugins (from my understanding, DG's plugins support much older GPU's). I have a not so great NVIDIA card also that is only a few years old and I can use DG's plugins.
Compiled binaries are almost always in the "releases" section: https://github.com/Asd-g/AviSynthPlus-RIFE/releases
Oh, and RIFE requires the latest AviSynth+ (r3682, it won't work with 3.7.2), a link to compiled DLLs can be found in the requirements section of the RIFE docs.

Yeah, my old laptop from 2007 works fine with DG stuff. But this one just doesn't have any of the something-or-other cores that are needed.
