Some days ago, streaming (and also downloading) with yt-dlp stopped working here, I could use some help to find a solution.

Maybe related, about the same time other Google services like Search and Translate started to make problems, slow loading or no loading at all.

Booted into my old Win 10 partition, same problem.

It sucks not being able to watch YouTube.

I have no issue with YouTube streaming with yt-dlp version 2022.08.19, in mpv on Linux.
There might just be networking issues either on your side or the routing to you.

With VPN it works.

I called my ISP, and they said that the problem is known and lies at Google in my Region.

Just for my curiosity, have you tried with DNS not from your ISP (1.1.1.1 for example) ?

There was failed DNS blocking recently in Austria (https://torrentfreak.com/austrian-isps-had-no-choice-but-to-block-pirate-sites-and-cloudflare-220829/) for example.

I tried changing the DNS, but didn't find any that helped. It's apparently fixed now, I wish a day earlier because of the VPN subscription, how can this happen for a full week.

I probably made a mistake trying to change the DNS, I simply googled how to change the DNS, and what I got was a guide for Wi-Fi usage, but my PC isn't connected with Wi-Fi but Ethernet. I'm such a noob with anything network related. :)
