convert file to mkv with one layer dolby vision

I have a video file that is m2ts. It has one layer of dolby vision.
I want to change the file to mkv and keep the Dolby Vision layer.
how do I do it ?
I would use tsmuxer, convert the file to bmdv folder and then use makemkv.
But since now the file is with one Dolby Vision layer. tsmuxer does not allow creating a bmdv folder

Depends on the exact contents & construct properties of the file. Maybe you can directly import and remux with MKVToolNix.
Otherwise, please post MediaInfo data of the file.

Right I can do it through MKVToolNix.
But now for some reason it disrupts the pgs subtitles that I attach.
This places them in the middle of the film

I like that the subtitles are already embedded in the film (burning)

Burning-in subs is not the same thing as attaching or muxing them. It is a recoding process. And I don't think the subtitle issue is related to your initial question about DV to mkv conversion.

Not being that familiar with burning-in subs, but I do think your burn-in software is not doing a proper job.
As we're probably talking about 4K video here, one thing I can think of though. In case you selected a PGS track, chances are that the software does not take into account that PGS for 4K is authored as 1920x1080. You should check settings/options.
